Stephen shares how to check for and how to fix muddy or dull-looking video game footage.

In Final Cut Pro X, he opens up and checks his scope for the Luma waveform (in IRE) for some of his StephenPlays content, and shows how the waveform needs to go from 0 (black) to 100 (white) for vivid game footage.

If the waveform does not need that, you need to use color-correcting tools and adjust the exposure by bringing down the shadows and bringing up the highlights.

It helps to adjust the shadows by using a frame with black in it (like a black loading screen) and the highlights by finding a frame which should have white in it (like the Xbox One home menu which has white text).
