Hello everybody, Monarch of Madnezzzzzzz here, coming to you with the events of the past 1-2 weeks.
Yes, I am a soccer fan. For those of you who don't know, this tournament is held a year before the world cup, to help the host figure out what they need to work on. I'm just going to skip right to the semifinal matchups.
Brazil v Uruguay
Brazil scored late in the first half, but the deficit was cut by Uruguay early in the scond half. Then, in the 86' Brazil scored again, off of a corner kick, to win the game 2-1, and go to the final.
Italy v Spain
Both teams had many chances to score, but did not score at all, sending the game to Extra time, and eventually Penalty Kicks. Both teams made all of them up to the 7th shot by Italy, where defender Leonardo Bonucci shot over the bar, and Spain's Jesus Navas scored the game winner, sending them to the final with Brazil.
Italy v Uruguay: 3rd Place
Italy scored fairly early, around 25', off of a free kick, and took the 1-0 lead into halftime. Uruguay scored around the 55' to tie the game at 1. Italy scored once again about 15 minutes later, to be answered with another Uruguay goal 5 minutes later, and it would remain tied going into Extra time. Italy's Ricardo Montollovo got a red card with 10 minutes left in extra time, but Italy would hold Uruguay off to send the game to PK's. Italy keeper Gianluigi Buffon would save 2 of Uruguay's shots, and Italy would win the game.
Brazil v Spain: Final
Brazil scored very early, only 90 seconds in, and, when Spain had a chance to answer back on a PK, it was missed by defender Sergio Ramos. Brazil's "rising star," Neymar, scored again late in the first half, taking the team to a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Brazil scored again early in the second half, and Spain wouldn't answer back, giving Brazil the 3-0 victory, and a confidence boost going into next year's World Cup.
My family went to Yellowstone July 1-3, and we stayed at the campground near Grant Village.
We mainly drove there, and went in through the southern end of the park, and we hiked around the village.
We went out to West Thumb Geyser Basin, then out to Storm Point. We also went to Mud Volcano, and saw a bison on the boardwalk. We went to Lake Village and saw the hotel there. We then went back to the campsite and watched a Ranger Program about why Yellowstone National Park exists today.
We went out to Lone Star Geyser, where we waited for 30 min for it to erupt. We then went out to Old Faithful, where we saw it erupt from the inn. We went to the store there to have some ice cream, and saw Beehive Geyser erupt. We then went home, stopping in West Yellowstone for pizza.
My aunt from Oregon was visiting, and we went to the parade with her and my grandma. We then went over to my grandma's house for lunch, which was hambugers. We went out to the park for the normal 4th of July festivites, and then back home to watch the movie Independence Day, the one with Will Smith and the aliens attacking the Earth. We then went out to go watch the fireworks, which were delayed due to high winds. So, instead of starting at 10, they started at 11.
That was my week, and this is Monarch of Madnezzzzzzz, singing out.
